RE: Notice of Road Committee Meeting


A meeting of the Road Committee has been called for the morning of Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in the Conference Room at the Police Jury Complex located at 507 West Main Street in Homer, LA.


The agenda is as follows –


1. Update on the Parish Roof projects.


2. From October 9 meeting - Request from OOCS Executive Director April Childress for the Jury to consider partnering with OCS for the purchase of a new handicap transportation van. Estimated cost share of $25,000.


3. Update on the continued discussion of the renewal of the Parish’s waste management contract with Republic Services and the continuation of the existing 1% sales tax that funds the program and the possibility of increasing this tax to 2% to fund the short falls in that fund.


4. Continued discussion on the request from Secretary-Treasurer Woodard for the Jury to reconsider its long standing “ad valorem tax credit” policy for road repairs with the local municipalities. Our auditors have asked us to re-examine this policy over the past several years in exit conference discussions.


5. Any other Parish building related issues.


6. Any other road, equipment, or other parish related issues
